People always come back for value

In 1900, a small French company launched a brilliant marketing campaign that would change the face of an industry. Back then, cars were rare and Michelin needed to sell more tires. The problem…not enough people driving. “So, what if we didn’t sell tires?” one man pondered. “What if we made people want to travel instead?” “We will create a guidebook – not a book to sell tires, but a book to help drivers explore the open road. This book will have maps, gas station locations, mechanics, hotels and RESTAURANTS. We will sell nothing – just share what we know!” Of […]

Same Human Beings

“We are so thankful that we met you, Jeremy,” Susan said. She then posted the same thing publicly online! I’m so appreciative for the relationship and the work we have done for her and their family. Later in the week, after seeing the post, my client Susan and I spoke live. I just wanted to inquire about her husband, Charles’, health (he’s battling cancer) and all that the family had going on. No performance discussions, just simply a check-in “How is Chet feeling?” I asked. “He is doing ok,” Susan replied. “We have had a few small scares, but we […]

Clarity and commitment.

Clarity and commitment. As we welcome in another year, I find that thinking about clarity and commitment as critical steps for my 2026. After all, you cannot have commitment without clarity. But you also cannot have clarity without commitment. What I mean by this is that one must commit to being clear about what one wants: personally, professionally, spiritually and financially. Once the commitment is made, a clear vision about what’s in-store follows. I am not afraid to admit that for years I failed in both. Sure, I still saw some success, but never truly was “all in” with my […]

December 2025 Market & Economic Recap

Stock Market U.S. stocks delivered another banner year in 2025, supported by resilient corporate earnings, continued enthusiasm around AI, and growing optimism that the Federal Reserve could begin cutting interest rates. In fact, the U.S. stock market just achieved something remarkably rare: three consecutive years of double-digit gains – an outcome that has occurred only six times since the 1940s. For the year, the market’s three major indices performed as follows: S&P 500: +16.39% (following gains of 23% in 2024 and 24% in 2023) Dow Jones Industrial Average: +12.97% Nasdaq Composite: +20.36% Historically, a three-peat of double-digit annual gains […]

The Power of Clarity

It’s amazing what happens when you visualize where you want to be, commit to it – and then go public with it! For many years, I have not been all that clear. The results, while not horrible, have been less that what they could have been – what they should have been. Until now. It took me really looking in the mirror and (a little help from my coach) to realize that. There is nothing worse than wasted potential, not being all that you can be. We all get that choice. Mine is simple: believe it, say it, and do […]

I forgive you.

Forgiveness. It’s so difficult for most people – and yet so important for all of us. Holding on to those negative feelings and thoughts simply eats you up. It creates self-defeating behavior that is very difficult to get past. I never forgave my father for how he was involved (or lack thereof) in the lives of my sister and me. Then, in 2013, he died. My sister had taken on the brunt of his care, doing all for him that he needed, being available when the assisted living facility called. While I simply worked. I stayed away, did the minimum. […]

Bringing people together.

This week, I had the pleasure of bringing some great people together: clients, friends, colleagues. It seems that so often people are afraid of sharing their relationships. Whether it’s been in business or personally, in my experience, many don’t like to share. There’s that fear that a relationship may prefer one person over another, that fear of what they will say when I am not around. I have always believed that if one person gets better, then we all get better. We all do better by being together. Now, this does not mean that we all need to agree on […]

Appreciated

What is it about a simple thank you that makes people feel so good – that warm feeling inside that you get when you feel appreciated? I had a meeting with a client and friend this week who was having a difficult time: Life. Business. Family. Just all around difficult. We sat and talked for a while. He asked my opinion on several things. I gave him my view. It was a difficult discussion, but a good one. As we were leaving, he looked at me, gave me a hug, and said, “Thanks, Jeremy. Thanks for listening and always giving […]

Calm

Many years ago, Prince Charles, while traveling in Australia, was shot at by a man in the crowd. On January 26, 1994, he was attending Australia Day celebrations in Sydney when a man suddenly raised a starter pistol and fired two blank shots directly in the Prince’s direction. The assailant was a 24-year-old university student protesting the treatment of asylum seekers in Australia. Though the gun only fired blanks, no one in the crowd – or in Charles’ security detail – initially knew that. For those few seconds, it appeared to be an assassination attempt. But what stood out in that frozen moment was Prince […]
