Time is our greatest asset.

Time is our greatest asset. Yet it is very precious and often overlooked. Make sure to value your time. On Tuesday morning at around 7:30 am, my Aunt Penny, while riding her bike, was hit by a car. It was a ride she and my uncle had done a million times. Close to their home. Flat road. Well lit. The young woman driving wasn’t paying attention and hit my aunt on her bicycle, putting her in the hospital and in a coma. My family’s lives – and the lives of those she touched – have changed in an instant. All […]

Expect excellence, but encourage improvement.

“If you punish people too much for failure, then they will respond accordingly, and the innovation you will get will be very incrementalist.  Nobody is going to try anything bold for fear of getting fired or being punished in the same way, so risk reward must be balanced.”  -Elon Musk I find this quote to be incredibly true, both in business and in our personal lives, with our children, spouses, and significant others. Look, it’s okay to get angry. It’s okay to express disappointment or dissatisfaction. But there must also be a follow-up to that. We also must celebrate the […]

Never forget where you came from.

Never forget where you came from. All of your pain. All of your struggle. And all of your joy. They are what builds who we are; what created your unique blueprint. For me, with our kids, we don’t want them to struggle. We try to shield them from the pain or challenges that we experienced. Is that helping or hurting? I think it may be both. I certainly would not want to have my kids experience what I did. But at the same time, the world is changing. We don’t know what kinds of jobs or opportunities they will have […]

April 2026 Market & Economic Recap

Stock Market U.S. stocks surged on the final day of April 2026 with all three major indices closing at record highs, thanks to investors looking past lingering geopolitical concerns and a softer-than-expected GDP reading of 2% annualized growth for Q1 2026. As a whole, April delivered an exceptional month for equities. For the month, the stock market’s three major indices performed as follows: S&P 500 10.4% The Dow 7.1% Nasdaq 15.3% It was the S&P’s best month since November 2020, the Nasdaq’s best month since April 2020, and the Dow’s strongest monthly advance since November 2024. *** Source: https://www.cnbc.com/2026/04/29/stock-market-today-live-updates.html   Inflation The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.9% in March, bringing the annual inflation rate to 3.3%, up from 2.4% in February and the highest level since April 2024. The increase was largely driven by a sharp rise in energy prices, which surged 10.9% for the month and 12.5% over the past year. Gasoline alone jumped 21.2% in March, accounting for nearly three-quarters of the overall increase, largely tied to geopolitical tensions involving Iran. Shelter costs also continued to rise modestly, increasing 0.3% for the month and 3% […]

Choose to Be the Light

Why is it so much easier to go into the dark than it is to go into the light? I think, largely we surround ourselves with people that enjoy gossip and seeing people struggle, versus choosing to surround ourselves with people that truly enjoy seeing others succeed and getting all that they want out of life. For whatever reason, it seems easier to counsel someone when they’re having a difficult time than celebrate someone when they’re enjoying all the successes that they deserve. Noticing this further, I recently got back from a conference of very successful people, and I was […]
