“Who would have ever thought a car ride would have turned into this incredible business opportunity?” he asked me.
Conversations, when pointed, honest, and real, can lead to some incredible things.
But too often, we are all focused on what people want to hear as opposed to things that people should hear, or the way things can be done and should be done versus the way they are being done.
It’s okay in business and in life and with our friends and family to talk about various topics and have differing opinions.
Those things can yield incredible results if allowed the time to have the conversation, to have the back-and-forth, and to not make it a monologue but more of a dialogue. To truly respect the views that people have, even if they are different from the things that you believe to be true.
In business, I have found that having conversations and being open to dialogue has led to more business. Personally, I wholeheartedly believe that if we all took the time to better understand why each of us believes what we believe, that could eventually lead to a much better result.
Discourse and honest dialogue are what make us all who we are.
Try and be open to that possibility.
