Years ago, my good friend Doug had a golf tournament for our office called the DVI.
It was great. It was in La Quinta and all the guys came together for several days, playing golf, smoking cigars, and having great dinners. Just hanging out with one another and being together.
Like many things in life, over time it came and went, and that incredible event ended some years ago.
But for me, the memories remain, as I am sure they do for others.
At the time, many of us were young and barely able to afford the golf, let alone the beautiful hotel we all stayed in. It was special
So today, we’re running that same event back.
Why?
Well, we ALL should pay things forward.
I wasn’t always 48. There was a time that I too was 24 and struggling to figure it all out.
Events like this bring people together, even those who would not be together normally or on a regular basis.
That is so important, as is upholding traditions.
Remembering where we come from is fundamental.
Never forget that as good or as challenging as things may be today, they weren’t always – and they won’t always be.
So, I encourage you to be present. Remember those that came before you. Be yourself and always be there for the ones that are coming up behind you.
Help make new traditions and lasting memories with great people.
That’s the good stuff!
