Solo parenting isn’t easy.
Even if it was just for one week!
This week, while my wife was out of town, I was charged with managing the kids, work, and all the things that go with that.
Three meals a day. ✅
Bathed and teeth brushed. ✅
Homework done. ✅
Pets fed. ✅
In bed on time. ✅
And, of course, I still need to make sure business is running smoothly, that clients are happy and I’m engaged there as well.
Work outs essential also. Those are a must.
So, what did I learn from my week as a solo parent juggling all of this?
Taking time away and getting a break from the norm is important for all of us. Doing things, we don’t always do is also valuable and helps shine a light on how things truly work and run every day.
This is true in our businesses and our personal lives.
In business, it’s about stepping back and assessing where you are versus where you want to be.
In our personal lives, it’s understanding how our spouse’s days are spent – what they deal with and the inner workings of our households.
Both different, yet both the same.
This exercise also created appreciation. At least for me.
And I got to spend a lot of one-on-one time with my kids that I don’t always get.
Come to think of it, that was the best part!
