Pete Rose once said, “Never change your swing. Your swing is what got you to the big leagues. If a pitcher is getting to you, move up in the box. Or move back in the box. Adjust your feet and how you position yourself. Never change your swing. Simply make adjustments.”
You, too, are a success for a reason. You’ve had success (or failure) for a reason, whether that applies to your professional, personal, family, or financial life.
That does not mean you don’t have to pivot sometimes or make small necessary changes.
Now, if you are truly unhappy with the results and the output, perhaps a more significant change is warranted.
But at the end of the day, you are what got you here. Good and bad, same person.
Don’t try to change who you are fundamentally.
As we get close to completing the third quarter of yet another year, focus on your goals and the things you set out to do at the beginning of the year. If you are behind, calibrate, adjust, accomplish, and, ultimately, win!
If you are beating them, think about what you can do next year to have your best year ever.
But never change your swing.
Simply make the necessary adjustments to win the day, the week, the month, and the year!
