Fear or Happiness.
Which is more powerful? Which is more calming?
Fear can drive us to movement. It can energize us to protect, to guard, but also close us off to what’s right in front of us.
While happiness leads to calm (mostly), it leaves us with a clear head. But also, it can lead us to complacency.
Today, we live in a world of very mixed feelings: fear of what the future holds, yet happiness perhaps in how the year has gone. This is true personally, professionally, and perhaps financially.
Yet, what is that hangover feeling? What is that “thing” that just won’t go away?
Uncertainty.
When you know what you’re going to get, I have found that most people simply settle.
When you don’t, I have found that most people can feel on edge.
The answer is to control what you can and focus on the positive.
There is always a positive silver lining. Always.
Things will not always be the way they are today. Good or bad, they will be different tomorrow.
So, embrace what is good and positive. Feel good about where you are and the results that you have achieved in the first three-quarters of the year – and in life in general.
Prepare for change and embrace what comes.
That is when the real calm happens.
