Just because you don’t agree with someone or something, it does not make you right and the other person wrong.
Discourse and listening help perspective. That is where we begin to learn and grow.
In today’s world, that has never been more important.
Conflicting views are where we begin to learn. Different perspective is how we grow and begin to understand how others think and feel.
Again, we do not have to agree. But we should respect how that person feels.
A few nights ago, some friends and I got into a spirited discussion about all that is happening around us. The seemingly nonstop noise. Everyone with an opinion. No one actually able to verify facts.
I mean, how can you trust what you read anymore?
At the end of the discussion, many of us agreed to disagree and that was it. Over.
Now, any one of us could very easily choose to end a relationship over a difference in belief. But absent a true attack on who you are or where you come from, is any of it that serious?
At the end of the day, conversation and clear communication wins the day.
This is true in life, business, and with any relationship you have.
Spirited, unfiltered conversation is so important.
We must keep the dialogue going and never go silent.
Stay true to your beliefs.
Be respectful.
Truly listen and, most importantly, keep talking to each other.
