Sometimes all that you need is right in front of you.
But too often, it’s so easy to think how lucky other people are, or to believe that if only I did this or if only I did that, things would be better.
Mostly, all that you really need is right in front of you.
Recently, I’ve been going through this process of trying to understand and enhance my business. Trying to really dig in and see where I can create improvement, whether that improvement is internal, external, or a combination of all of the above.
Obviously, we have all the technology and the tools and certainly great people, but excellence is something that requires constant attention.
You cannot take it for granted. You must always work towards being better tomorrow than you were today.
In this search over the last couple of weeks, I found that a number of the answers to the questions that I’ve been asking are right in front of me. But I had been looking so far down the road that I wasn’t paying attention to the small details that are right there. The people, the planning, the tools, the technology – all of the things that we need are right there.
To be the best in any aspect of your life, it requires constant attention, but sometimes that attention needs to be more introspective than extrospective.
Lessons every day.
