As a Senior Vice President of One Wealth Management Financial and Insurance Services, Mike provides personal wealth management services for young professionals, executives and other individuals who need help to effectively manage rising income as well as ever evolving financial obligations. He also works with a range of business owners to help them build, grow, protect and transfer a successful business. Mike has a thorough understanding of corporate financial needs, from closely-held family businesses to large corporations with hundreds of employees.
A Santa Monica native, Mike attended John Thomas Dye and Harvard-Westlake School, followed by UC Santa Barbara with stops at Iowa State and UCLA along the way. Prior to his financial services career, he owned a sales and distribution company where he learned first-hand how to build a business from the ground up and take it from start-up to success.
Always a “people person,” Mike decided to move on from his company in 2006 and having always had an interest in finance, he chose to begin his financial services career in mortgage banking and lending. While working with investors, his interests evolved to wanting to help his clients manage other areas of their financial lives. “Mortgage banking is very transactional,” Mike says. “You’re only needed as an advisor at a given time. I wanted a relationship-based career, so I could be there for my clients day in and day out, helping them plan for life’s events.”
Mike takes a tax-centric approach to strategies, based more on tax-efficient strategies and solutions than simply seeking the highest rate of return investment vehicles with little regard for the strategy. Having built, managed and exited his own business, Mike has a unique perspective as a business planning advisor. He is intimately familiar with the financial issues business owners face daily and is skilled at helping them balance running the day-to-day operations by creating financial strategies for the long-term.
Mike helps his business clients attract, retain and reward employees by designing and implementing benefit programs including tax qualified retirement plans such as 401(k), group health plans, and individual disability income, life and long-term care insurance coverage.
For his personal clients, Mike prepares uniquely designed strategies that help address everyone’s financial goals and objectives; whether retirement, investment or insurance-related. He tells every client he works with, “I want to help you protect, preserve and grow what’s most important to you.”
